Why am I here? Why do I exist? What is my purpose?
These are some of the deepest questions we can ask ourselves. And your purpose—your dharma—isn’t just about a job or a role. It’s the deeper thread that runs through everything you do. It’s your sacred why, the medicine only you can carry.
Yet discovering that purpose isn’t always easy. In fact, there are common blocks that can cloud your clarity and disconnect you from your truth. Let’s explore a few of them.
1. Fear of the Unknown
Change can feel terrifying, even when deep down, you crave it. Fear of failure or even fear of success often holds people back. However, underneath that fear lies an invitation to step into something greater.
2. External Expectations
Society rewards productivity and image. Family and peer pressures add more noise. As a result, it becomes harder to hear your inner voice. Reclaiming your path means releasing what no longer fits. Some people will drop away and new ones will appear. That is just a part of the journey.
3. Disconnection From Self
In a busy world, self-awareness takes a back seat. Without reflection, journaling, or meditation, purpose becomes hard to access. Therefore, slowing down is essential.
4. Limiting Beliefs
Old stories and childhood conditioning often whisper “not enough” or “too much.” These beliefs may keep you small, but with awareness and support, they can be changed and rewritten.
5. Overwhelm and Confusion
With endless options and constant information, it’s easy to freeze. Instead of pressuring yourself to “find the answer,” try softening into curiosity. Clarity always comes from presence, not force.
The Final Thread
The truth is—your purpose isn’t something outside of you. It’s alive within your body, your current experience, your energy, and your daily choices. Every time you choose love over fear, honor your boundaries, or create from the heart, you step closer to it.
Discovering your purpose is a sacred unfolding, not a race. And you don’t have to walk it alone.
